- as per taste Salt
- 1 tsp Sugar

- First, heat 1 tsp ghee in a stainless steel pressure cooker or pressure pan. Pop mustard, cumin, add hing, curry leaves, ginger and saute' well. Then add the beetroot and cook for 1 minute while stirring.
- Then add the soaked rice and daal, stir well for 2 minutes till it gives aroma.
- Then add chopped tomatoes and salt, spice powders, sugar and add 1/4 cup water. Let the tomatoes cook with lid on for 2 minutes.
